Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service has started to serve people with visually and hearing impairment since early 70s. Nowadays, HKLSS Rehabilitation Service has extended to serve people with physical disability, intellectual disability and multi- disabilities. We believe that everyone has potential for further growth and development. Therefore, we strive to develop the potential of our service targets through diversified service modes in order to enhance their quality of life.
Social and Recreational Center
Shek Kip Mei Lutheran Centre for the Blind
Cheung Ching Lutheran Centre for the disabled
Both Social and Recreational Centres for the Disabled provide disabled persons with opportunities to participate in and to organize a variety of activities which meet their social, recreational and developmental needs. Shek Kip Mei Lutheran Centre for the Blind and Cheung Ching Lutheran Centre for the disabled serve the persons with visual impairment, hearing impairment and physically disability respectively. Besides, the Centres provide counselling and support service, support group, barrier free advocacy works, and sign language interpretation service as well. Both Centres welcome volunteers to join and support their social integration services.

Lung On Lutheran Day Activity Centre
The first day activity center began at the first floor of Martha Boss Lutheran Community Centre in 1986. Nowadays, we have three Day activity centers serving people over 15-year-old with moderate to severe grade intellectual disability. Besides basic self-care, social and simple work skill, a variety number of art development program are launched to assist members to develop their potential. In addition, community based and educational programs are organized to facilitate them for better integration into the community.
Lei Tung Lutheran Hostel
Homantin Lutheran Hostel
Both Lei Tung and Homantin Lutheran Hostel provide residential service for persons with severe/moderate mentally handicapped who are lack of basic self-care skills and require assistance in personal and nursing care. Besides, individual and group training programs are launched to develop our members’ social and communication skills. Moreover, regular contact between members and the community as well as their families are scheduled so as to keep close relationship between them.
District Support Center
Homantin Yung Lok Lutheran District Support Center
HKLSS started a District Support Center in 2010. The center provides "one-stop" community support service for people with disabilities and their family members/carers living in Kowloon City, Yaumati, Tsimshatsui and Mongkok District. It aims at enhancing the domestic living and community living skills for people with disabilities so as to facilitate their integration into the community.
Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Lutheran Supported Employment and Training Scheme
Lutheran Supported Employment and Training Scheme includes ‘Supported Employment’ (aged 15 or above) and ‘Sunnyway - On the Job Training Program for Young People with Disabilities’ (aged 15 to 29). Both schemes provide employment support services to people with ex-mental illness, mild and moderate intellectual disability and hearing impairment. Including job matching, skills training, on-the-job coaching and job-related guidance and advice to the service users, their family members and the job providers.
