Smart Kids Lutheran Centre
Introduction
To ensure that children with special needs receive the necessary training during their critical developmental period, our unit has received subvention from Social Welfare Department since 2018 to launch the subsidized On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Service to provide early training to children on the waiting list for pre-school rehabilitation services.
The Government has regularised the Tier 1 Support Services and integrated them with On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services since September 2023 to offer comprehensive and timely assistance to pre‑school children with different levels of special needs through inter-disciplinary service teams under a school-based and integrated approach.
Objectives
- To help children with special educational needs (SEN) to provide early training in aspect of their developmental stage.
- To support teachers/child care workers on knowledge and skills in identifying and working with children with special needs.
- To support parents on positive attitude and effective skills in raising their children with special needs.
Target
-
On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services:
Children under six attending our serving KGs/ KG-cum-CCCs.
- assessed as having mild disabilities
The parents/caregivers and childcare workers of the aforementioned children
Tier 1 Support Services:
Children under six attending our serving KGs/ KG-cum-CCCs who are:
-awaiting assessment by Child Assessment Centres (CACs), or
-assessed by CACs to have borderline developmental problem, or
-Assessed by the OPRS team as having special needs with reference to the Child Observation Checklist (COC).
The parents/caregivers and teachers/childcare workers of the aforementioned children.

Service
- Individual training – to help child with special needs to improve their ability of speech , cognition and motor skills.
- Consultation service – to support teachers on knowledge and skills in working with children with special needs.
- Educational programs – to help parents to establish positive attitude and effective skills in raising their children with special needs.
Service Hour
Monday to Friday : 8:30AM – 5:30PM
Saturday : 9:00AM – 12:00PM
