Lutheran Foster Care Unit

Introduction

Lutheran Foster Care Unit was established in 1993. This service is one of the residential services for children. In December, 2010, we have totally 2 full time and 1 part time foster care workers serving foster children and foster homes located territory-wide in Hong Kong. Now our unit is providing both ordinary foster care service and day foster care service to meet different needs of both foster child and their birth family

Objectives

To match and place a foster children in a suitable foster home
To understand the development of foster children in placement and identify the appropriate care they need in foster homes
To supervise, monitor and support foster homes to provide age appropriate care to foster children
To work with referring workers and parties concerned for the welfare plan of foster children
To contact secondary services as required for the need of foster children
To recruit suitable foster families
